Patrick James Dunn Taps-Aff by all means!!!

    Hi World Travelers!

Glasgow, the weather is: Taps Aff

Taps-Aff (Scots Vernacular) Literally "tops off." The removing of one's shirt in the event of warm weather, a phenomenon rarely seen in Glasgow. Now an expression describing good times being had. Antonym: Taps-Oan, "tops on".  Current Temperature: 19°C (66°F)

In our way to see Sean and Lisa get hitched!!!!

    • Chloe Alexis Dunn Oops on our way.....

    • Patrick James Dunn Galiano is where Whirlygig has just bought property. North end of island. Have a grand time at BC Destination Wedding!

Hope all continues to go so well. Great blog, Catherine! Cheers, Patrizzio!

It's taps aff here now we are back to ocean level following a fab time in the Himalayas.very special. ENDured a 60km bike ride at 11000 feet with a few temples thrown in. thanks for the note Patrick.matt

Hi Glasgow! With your extreme high altitude training are you entering the Tour de France? Climbs in the Alps will be a piece of cake after the Himalayas. Cheers, Lance!

I have been advised not to due to new urine sampling methods. ah we'll.
    Matt

Hi Lancelot! I was under the distinct impression that yak butter masked all steroids, cold remedies, alcohol and other illicit, banned substances. Why worry? Cheers, Doping Commissioner Dunn!

Pic: Admiral Barnacle, over for dinner, swears by ghee!

Hi Big Al and Marilyn! Wondering if you are in Sunshine Paradise for the long weekend. We were invited to Little Shushwap by friends, Ruth/Rick, from Squamish but had to decline as my barber, (Dino of Economy Barbershop on 41st and Arbutus), is having a 50th anniversary celebration for his shop, on Sunday. Over the years, we have become friends. Since he is from Greece I mentioned, at one point, that I grew up on Cyprus and it turned out that he was doing his National Service there while we lived on island, back in the '50's!

Anyway, with Cora Lee's plethora of meetings we would have had to leave this afternoon and then "dash" back early Sunday morning. What with weekend traffic, etc., it all seemed a bit much so we decided to stay home and enjoy a relatively peaceful weekend. Have been in "nonstop" mode ever since returning from Mexico,as I think you know.

It was great to see you both last Friday and certainly appreciate your support in coming to Aunt Leah's event. Hope your time at gathering following ours went well. Saw Ski again this past week. She stayed overnight last Monday and we went for a ride on Tuesday morning. Giggster came by at 8:00 am and we made for Stanley Park. We left him at Prospect Point, (He had commitments.), and Ski and I proceeded over Lions Gate and made for Spirit Trail.

Ski went to Victoria on Wednesday. Was dropped at Tswassen with one of Al's bikes as she planned to ride into Victoria from ferry terminal. Had a message from her later that day. She had a flat shortly after leaving Swartz Bay!

At any rate, hope all goes/went well with your Mom's surgery. Let us know when your busy lives settle down a tad and perhaps we can organize a ride and/or get-together. To this end, Whirlygig did buy the property he wanted on Galiano and is scheduled to move there at the end of July. We will be away by July 21st so it would be great if we can organize a farewell before then with as many of the Peloton as possible. Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Big Al! Message I just sent to Marilyn was returned, "Undeliverable! Any thoughts? Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Marilyn! I didn't have an "a" in your email address when I first sent message!! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrice, Started on your last email but will have to revisit later as trying to get a bunch of stuff done before heading to cabin. Colleen's email is @hotmail.com. Cheers, Al

P, Thanks for the call -- on the road, DD for the sister. I am just scrambling now. Not sure I can get out today. You best go when you are ready. W

Hi Kjell! Sorry to hear about your various health trials and tribulations but glad things seem to be improving, if slowly. At any rate, hope all continues to go well with your complete recovery. Fondestos from Cora Lee. She just left for a walk along Seawall with friend Agneta, just back from Mexico herself. She lives in Guayabitos, just north of Puerto Vallarta, for six months, or more, a year. She is a Mennonite and was born near Guadalajara, on a communal farm, and so possesses Mexican citizenship. She just finished building a very lovely house a few months ago. She has been a school friend of Corinne's since the '60's, when they met in Steinbach, Manitoba! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Janet! Do apologize for this tardy reply. Social Merry-Go-Round seems to have been spinning faster and faster ever since we landed back in Vancouver on May 7th! Liked your "practice" bus/bike run. Great idea! You sound very, very busy with work and family visits. Fond regards to Sandy and loved snap of Karen's grandson, Linden! Plans for India are suffering, at moment, but we plan to refocus once next week or so have passed. At any rate, hope all continues to go well with you and your busy schedule. Still hope we can manage something with Eyob so perhaps you can suggest some times that might work for you and we'll try to plan accordingly.  Cheers, Patrizzio!

    Hi Pinot Grigio People!

Do apologize for taking so long to reply. At any rate, hope all continues to go well with you and your pampered lives!  Cheers, Patrizzio!

Enjoyed the day with Michele Darrow-Sutherland Doug Conrad Michelle LaVigne. 27 degrees here today Does it get any better. All the white wine and Red wine that you can drink. 18 holes today and tee times for the next two.

    • Patrick James Dunn Glad to hear you are having a fabulous time! Knew you would. Cora Lee is very disheartened to be Molly-less so I have had to console her with stiff, Long Table, (craft distillery at foot of Hornby, just up from Aquabus stop), Cucumber Gin and Tonics! Very quiet here, without a plethora of Sutherland Freeloaders! Had a good ride out to UBC and environs. Stats for ride: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/500774191...

    • Patrick James Dunn Here is BBQ Woman, reading up on India, before I make saladin. Chicken and a new oniones dish on grill. Whole onion, cored, filled with part of a bouillon cube, butter on top, wrapped in foil, bake for an hour. Cheers! PS: Don't forget my cycling shoes!!!!
    • Patrick James Dunn If you have room, both in car and on your credit card, I'll take a mixed case of any whites you like. No big deal if not convenient as I want "to go on the halves" anyway! Cucumber Gin, delicioso indeed!

Dear Patrick and Corinne Any chance you can pop over on Sunday about 3:30 for a bit of champagne and nibllies. Colin's birthday so we were hoping to celebrate a wee bit. Sorry for the late notice my late planning.
    Cheers

Hi Miss Marpole! Thanks for invitation! How old is Colin? Which birthday? Would love to drop in. If it is fine, we would probably not arrive until after 4:00 pm. Let me know what you think and we'll plan accordingly.

Miriam Toews' father was Cora Lee high school English/History teacher. We saw her at a VWF event a month or so ago, along with Steven Galloway, of The Cellist of Sarajevo fame, latest, The Confabulist, about Houdini. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Dear Patrick Thank you for your update--you are on a social merry go round -- belated congratulations on celebrating your wedding anniversary--how many years?  Very touching--tiny key earrings.  You are something else!

Please stop by when you can on Sunday.  4:00 ish would be absolutely fine.  Colin turns 66 so just wanted to toast his birthday.  We are spending a quiet weekend--lots of work to do at home here and never enough time during the week. Look forward to catching up with you on Sunday.

Also thanks so much for the Mother's Day e-card--really appreciated it.
    Cheers for now
