Islay Inn Re-Entry Blues: Tuesday, July 15th!

The bicycle is the most civilized conveyance known to man. Other forms of transport grow daily more nightmarish. Only the bicycle remains pure in heart. -Iris Murdoch, writer (1919-1999)

Hi Patrick and all, Wow, what a bummer! Sorry you had such a long, miserable, expensive day.

I have to apologize for Sarge’s garlic. I had assumed that it was from my own garden and put it with the rest of the stalks I had already harvested.

[Tim Kelly's birthday is today.]

Ted and I had a good golf game. We were playing with a couple of club members I know quite well who were having a match play contest, so it was quite fun to watch these guys grinding it out. It turned out that the 22 handicap beat the 6 handicap, 2 up with 1 to play. Ted played well considering it was his first round of the year. I wasn’t too happy with my game but not to worry. Hope the car repair is simple and the lamb is excellent. Peter

Carol Riera La visite!

Patrick James Dunn Où cette photo a été prise? Où en effet des gens heureux? Just back from Naramata where I had a pretty successful Granfondo: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/541009607... Folk Fest this weekend then On-The-Road for Falcon! Cheers!
Carol Riera So will we see you at Falcon? When would be good for you? We were at the Bistro Ok (good play on words for au Quai). Delicious and we were with a friend of Bruno's from College and his wife. They live in New Caledonia!
Patrick James Dunn We hope to be in Winnipeg/Falcon by Friday, July 25th, all going well so perhaps we should be in contact shortly before to see what everyone's schedule looks like. Why not send Cora Lee a message as she may well have an idea about best timing as she is planning things, for anniversary, with her sister, Spumoni, errands beforehand, etc. Cheers!

Hi Patrick, Yes, we have confirmed noon on August 1st. Give me a call please when you get in, so that we can confirm a time and date to meet. Regards, Melody

Hello Melody! Thank you for the confirmation for August 1st, Chapel Lawn. Much appreciated. I will be in touch as soon as we arrive in Winnipeg to let you know when best to meet regarding charges, etc. Thanks again. Cheers, Patrizzio!

[Admiral Edward Vernon, who loved grogram coats and earned the nickname "Old Grog". He also diluted rum and helped coin the term grog. Art: Thomas Gainsborough (1727-1788)]
Groggage very generously provided the following reds: 2004 Osoyoos Larose, La Grand Vin, ( Merlot, 65%, Cabbage, 21%, PV, 5%, CF, 4%, Malbec, 2%), 13.5% together with a vertical tasting of Church and State Quintessential, (same varietals as above), 2005, 14.6%, 2006, 14.3%, and  2007, 14.5%. Really liked Joanne's 2011 Trivento Golden Reserve Malbec, Mendoza, 14.5% and Jane's 2011 Laura Hartwig, Colchagua, Cabbage, 14%
